Cliff and I have a great interest in computers and the internet. We
met online as a matter of fact. Our story is one that seems to occur more
and more often. Here is the condensed version!
In
December of 1996 I did a member search on my ISP for single men living in my
hometown who were online that particular night. I started to chat with
'CJ' and we seemed to enjoy the conversation. That January while I was laid up
with a back injury we spent many early morning hours online chatting. We both
seemed to be nervous about talking on the phone so we just talked online.
February came around and we finally realized that his sister and I worked for
the same company but at different offices. This seemed to take the
nervousness out of us. While I hinted at meeting, Cliff (CJ) was still a
bit shy and didn't pick up my hints. So, being the bold person I can be, I asked
him out on a date. We set it up for two weeks later and in the meantime
exchanged phone calls.
The big night finally arrived. Cliff and I went to a lovely restaurant and
enjoyed ourselves very much. He was so sweet, he gave me a big purple bunny
(purple being my favorite color) and a Cadbury egg (it was close to Easter
time). I invited him back to my place and we chatted into the wee hours of the
night before he went home.
We spent the entire next day with each other. It didn't take a rocket
scientist to realize that this was the start of a beautiful relationship. After
a couple days we realized this was definitely love. By the end of the second
week we were engaged.
Needless
to say, six months later we were married. We had a beautiful church wedding with
a very nice reception.
Since that time, (our 6th anniversary is in September) we have been
working and trying to start a family. Yes there have been rough spots. For the
first few months of marriage we were dealing with my mom's cancer and ultimate
death. Squabbling families and more deaths in the family have also taken their
toll.
Through it all we stay constant with each other. We are best friends and soul
mates. I thank God every day that Cliff was online that first night and that we
found each other. I can't imagine my life without him.
So that's all she wrote so far. Stay tuned :-) for further announcements!
