Materials:
One broken foot or leg (couldn't resist), 1 oz. crochet cotton worsted weight, Size F hook.
Directions:
Rnd 1: Ch 12, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc across with 3 hdc in last ch, continue with hdc in remaining loops until one st from end, 3 hdc in last stitch, join. (26 sts)
Rnd 2: Ch 2 (counts a 1 hdc now and throughout), *1 hdc in same st, 1 hdc in ea of next 10 sts, (2 hdc in next st) twice**, 2 hdc in next st, rep from * to ** once, join. (32 sts)
Rnd 3-5: Ch 2, hdc in ea st around, join.
Rnd 6: ch 2, 1 hdc in same st, *1 hdc in ea of next 11 sts, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in ea of next 4 sts,** 2 hdc in next st, rep from * to ** once, join.
Rnd 7: Ch 2, 1 hdc in same st, *1 hdc in ea of next 12 sts, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in ea of next 5 sts,** 2 hdc in next st, rep from * to ** once, join.
Rnd 8: Ch 2, 1 hdc in same st, *1 hdc in ea of next 13 sts, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in ea of next 6 sts,** 2 hdc in next st, rep from * to ** once, join.
Rnd 9: Ch 2, 1 hdc in same st, *1 hdc in ea of next 14 sts, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in ea of next 7 sts,** 2 hdc in next st, rep from * to ** once, join.
Rnd 10: Ch 2, 1 hdc in same st, *1 hdc in ea of next 15 sts, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in ea of next 8 sts,** 2 hdc in next st, rep from * to ** once, join.
Rnd 11-13: Ch 2, hdc in ea st around, join. (on last rnd do not fasten off)
Finishing:
Ch 5, dc in 3 ch from hook, *skip next st, 1 hdc in next st, ch 3, dc in 3rd ch from hook** continue around, join with sl st to beg 2nd ch. fasten off.
On each side of toe cover attach yarn with sl st and ch as many as you need to be able to tie them to one another behind cast or wrap around back and tie it in front.
Pattern Note:
Depending on size of foot and cast, you may need to do more increases or less to get a proper fit. I had many "fittings" with my sister prior to completing the cover. The fittings are worth it... trust me!!
